Hello Everyone,
We at Belmont Little League hope that you, your players and family are safe from the covid-19 virus. The safety and well-being of our players is our top priority. While the news has been rapidly changing lately, we are still remaining hopeful that we can continue our baseball/softball programs this spring and continue throughout the fall.
The Executive Board met this week and we are going to continue to monitor the CDC guidelines, State of Illinois orders and the direction from Little League International. As of now we plan on allowing our teams to start practicing as of 5/11. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our kids to participate in. If and when things change we will reevaluate as we go.
We have NOT decided to cancel any of our programs, yet.
Below are some key dates to keep in mind as we move forward with spring 2020 Season (remember these dates can change and can be reevaluated at any time)
- 4/25 – Remaining registration balances are due. If you need assistance or cannot pay at the moment. Please reach out to us at [email protected]
- 5/2 – Town Hall Meeting at 12pm @ Belmont – We would like to share with you what to expect for the upcoming season and address any questions you might have. (This can change due to State of Illinois social gathering requirements)
- 5/8 – 5/9 – Field Cleanup Day (This can change due to State of Illinois social gathering requirements. More information will be sent out as we get closer)
- 5/11 – Teams can start practicing (Baseball/Softball)
- 5/18 – 5/24 – Anticipate Games to start this week (this can be pushed back a week)
- 5/30 – Opening day for T-ball
- Picture day has been postponed (New Date TBA)
We know how meaningful the experience of Little League can be to all our participants, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. As the situation continues to develop, we will do our best to continue to keep our players, volunteers and families informed.
Sincerely,
Belmont Little League
