Belmont Families,
We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe in this pandemic time. Our board of directors held a meeting on Saturday, May 2nd and discussed the future of spring season. Should the stay at home order end on May 31st, we are hopeful and anticipate to start in June. Please understand that the safety of our players, parents, umpires, concession stand workers and all the volunteers that make this program a success are very important to us.
Games would likely start the latter part of June, and we are implementing a league wide two-week training period prior to any formal game-play. When things slowly get back to normal, we don’t want to rush too much, we want to let our families, coaches, volunteers, and players ease back into the routine of a baseball/softball season. The season would likely extend into September. It is also important to know, that our leagues player agent has already put together the teams, including coaches. If you have not already, you should be notified sometime in the next week or so of your child's team.
Due to the ever changing circumstances, our board will meet again Saturday, May 16th with more information to share. We are reviewing our refund policy should any families choose to opt-out of player this year all together. That policy will be posted on all Belmont social media platforms and our website. We will also be sharing some guidelines that Little League has recommended in order to keep the players safe and healthy.
Please keep these things in mind before any consideration of canceling, as it's going to be great to see all the kids finally get out of the house & blow off all this energy they've been saving up the past months! We are hopeful in the upcoming weeks we can keep you guys updated as things may change. If for any reason, our tentative push-back of the season absolutely doesn't work with your summer plans, please let us know. We're sure that many family's summer plans have changed, and there will be more "staycations" this year – but what a better way to spend the summer than playing Little League baseball/softball and enjoying what the Belmont has to offer!
Thank you all for your support,
Belmont Board
