Volunteer Policy

Volunteer Policy:

Belmont Little League is an all-volunteer organization. We have had tremendous success in past years with the involvement of our parents throughout the season. We cannot do it without you! As part of demonstrating that ongoing successful team and family atmosphere, we ask our parents to get involved with the League each year to make this the best experience for the kids. We are a non-for-profit 501-(c) (3) charitable organization founded over sixty years ago. As a corner stone for the community, the organization serves boys and girls, preschool through age sixteen. The league is run and managed by community volunteers and promotes character, courage, teamwork and loyalty through the favorite pastime of baseball.

Volunteer Requirements and Fees

Belmont Little League is asking each family to commit to 6 hours (per family, not per player) of volunteering this season. At the time of registration, there will be a $75 volunteer fee/deposit included at the time of registration per family. Such volunteer fee can be refunded if 6 hours by family is completed by TBA. Hours and/or team positions will be tracked during the season and volunteer deposits will be refunded once hours have been fulfilled the month following.

A communication will be sent throughout the season up until TBA to those families who have not fulfilled all their hours. They will be offered open volunteer opportunities to fulfill their commitment or not refunded the volunteer fee. Board Members, managers, and coaches are not required to complete extra hours for additional children, as the hours they contribute far exceed the requirement and the commitment fulfills their hours per family.

Little League requires that a background check be performed on all volunteers that interact with players. All volunteers will be required to fill out and submit either:

* Little League Volunteer Application
* Little League “Returning” Volunteer Application

A criminal background check is performed on volunteers who have repetitive contact with children, and includes state and federal criminal history information and subsequent arrest notification for those individuals with an identified criminal history. JDP provides the background check for Belmont Little League.
